Sign Language Services
Dennis is Deaf and because of that, he has a passion for his mother tongue: the Sign Language of the Netherlands (NGT). For this reason, Dennis thinks it is important that deaf and hard-of-hearing enjoy as much accessibility as possible.
To ensure accessibility, all of content should be accessible in NGT and written Dutch. For 7 years, Dennis worked for the European Union of the Deaf Youth, a non-profit organisation, active in 28 member states of the Council of Europe. As a result, he traveled a lot and expanded his network.
Before he started Dennis Hoogeveen Consultancy, Dennis was a Dutch teacher. He did the Dutch language teacher training and worked at the Guyot School for VSO in Haren for a while. It was really satisfying to teach Deaf children, but Dennis really wanted to do more than just teaching Dutch. That's why he is arranging and teaching workshops, based on his own experiences and self-study.
Since January 1st 2018, Dennis is also a WFD-WASLI accredited International Sign Interpreter. He is available to work in various settings to ensure communication between Deaf and hearing.
